When a "normal" cast polystyrene was used, the molecular size of C10-C22 (C10 = 142 gram/mole) and naphthalenes (=128 gram/mole) will most probably be a limiting diffusion factor. So even when the solubility of these molecules would theoretically be high (a high driving force), nothing might happen to the expanded Polystyrene at 298 Kelvin and 1 Atmosphere.
In this case with EPS, we need some more information on void distribution and processing conditions. Please contact us by phone or e-mail.

: EPS or expanded polystyrene is resistant against solutions of methanol and silicone oils. It has however a limited resistance against paraffin oil, diesel oil or vegetable oil. But how about its resistance against a solution containing up to 2300 micograms/L naphtalene and 1800 micrograms/L mineral oil (C10-C22)?
