Dear Indranath,

As the HDPE is more dense (density=0.940-0.965 g/cm3) than LDPE (density=0.915-0.925 g/cm3) and both are partly crystalline, partly amorphous, generally HDPE is a (little) more "tight" than LDPE. This results, as a rule of thumb, in a lower diffusion coefficient (D) of molecules through HDPE. However, it may give exceptions, so it is advised to assess each diffusion case separately.

Please feel free to send additional questions/remarks to us.

: Dear Forum,
: I need to to know, how does the pattern of diffusion
: vary between a HDPE container and a LDPE container of
: similar wall thickness.
